Linda Ann Schoonover, PhD, PsyS, MSW, BSN, AD, RN, LMSW, Director of Hope Care Beyond Counseling. She is passionate about blending health, wellness, social work, sexuality, spirituality, and psychology to foster hope and faith with staff and clients.
Dr. Linda Ann Schoonover graduated from Dearborn High School in 1973, obtained an AD in Science in Nursing from Henry Ford Community College in 1978, BSN from University of Detroit in 1982, MSW from Wayne State University in 1984, PsyS from Center for Humanistic Studies in 1991 and her Ph.D. from The Union Institute in 1995 as well as studied at New Your University and in the Netherlands, Kinsey Institute and with Masters and Johnson. Dr. Linda has done in-patient child, adolescent, and adult mental health, day treatment, partial day treatment, emergency room, activities therapy, substance abuse, dual diagnosis, home health care, taught at several Universities, and had been involved with research and publications.
I integrate multiple theories, including, but not limited to: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Gestalt, REBT, Solution-Focused and Client Centered approaches.
I have extensive experience working with individuals who are struggling with: Mood Disorders, Grief and Bereavement, Trauma, PTSD, Foster Care system
involvement, Domestic Violence and Cultural Identity issues.
I have a passion for the third culture population and their issues. I am multilingual; therefore, in addition to English, I also provide therapy in in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
